Just barely though. Packing up and moving in a week and a half. Things are hectic to say the least. I got together with my old group of high school girlfriends last night and now I am feel a little down and out. I miss having girlfriends like that. And even though there will soon be 750 miles between me and the people I love the most ... Im going to make a distinct effort to be a better friend to these girls. I've missed them and I've missed me and I've missed things like last night.

It is is 6am. Dave has a 6:45am flight out of LGA because his 9:40pm flight was cancelled last night. Delta sent him back to Long Island in a cab. Cab was supposed to pick him up at 4:45 this morning. Bastard didn't show up til 5:30.

So now he is calling me, they are just a few minutes from the airport. He has tightness and numbness in his arms and hands and the cab driver is going 90.

Even if he misses this flight, there are several flights throughout the day. But after this whole week and what he dealt with last night ....

Im shaking crying.

Im in Michigan. And it's cold. But my wireless is working for once, so woot for that.

Going home tomorrow and then I have to bust ass to get all my shit done. Though I did write three pages of my Christianity paper and two pages of my Greek paper. So Im feeling rather pleased with myself for actually doing homework. There is a desk in our room, and I think that is what inspired me to do homeowrk.

Note to self: Buy nice desk before grad school.

Two weeks from tomorrow is graduation. Un-fucking-believable.

Going at for dinner around six and I really need a shower. The new Bruce album really pleases me. I keep listening to We Shall Overcome and getting chills. It's so fitting.

PattyPace is beside me doing Patty type things. Im looking at her computer and it does not appear as though she is actually doing homework. It rather appears as though she is reading about Tool. *HI PATTY!!!!!!!!!!!!*

Good bye my loves.

Well, my dear friends, I have signed up for what is quite possibly the most difficult, most rewarding, and most life changing experience that Ive had in quite sometime. A group of women from my Bruce site did the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk last fall in Philadelphia. I so desperately wanted to do it with them, but circumstances just wouldnt allow it.

This year, however, Im in. I just signed up two days ago, and while the task is daunting, it is nothing I cannot handle. I have until October 6 to prepare myself. Sixty miles. Three days. Countless laughs and memories. But most importantly, each step I take will be benefiting those who suffer from breast cancer, helping promote breast cancer research, honoring the women whose lives have been cut short by this terrible illness, celebrating those who have beaten the odds.

It's going to take a lot of hard work, trust me, I understand that. But the accomplishment and the cause far outweigh any blisters I may get or bad days I might have. The only thing that stands in my way is the $2200 I must raise in order to participate in the walk.

If you can, please visit my personal page:
http://www.the3day.org/Philadelphia06/bethleanne
And please consider donating. I know most of us are poor college students, but five dollars, ten dollars, whatever you can give .... your donation will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. If you cannot donate, I also accept kind thoughts, good vibes, prayers, etc. ;)

So the girls at work have started the official countdown to my graduation. Twenty-five days. Eleven more class days, plus finals. Im having a hard time getting excited, mostly cause I have 856 things to do in these next 25 days.

In other news, I think I have found my calling. My perfect graduate school program. Today, I applied to this program: http://www.liunet.edu/cwis/brent/graduate/childhood_lit.html It is in Long Island, of course. All the courses are nights and weekends, which would allow me to get a job and work at least part time. I dont have to take the GRE. It is a small campus (1000 students), entirely commuter, usually 20 students per class. So, as the wonderful admissions counselor told me, "You get the big LIU name without the big campus." Perfect. I have always known that I want to work with young children, though not necessarily in a traditional classroom role. When I found this program online, I almost started crying because it is exactly what I have been looking for. The thought of going back to school in the fall actually excites me. I would go to school for the rest of my life if they would let me.

Also, Grippos. The best damn potato chips evah.

Also, Bruce. The new album came out yesterday. I havent bought it yet, but I did watch a video clip of his GMA thing yesterday morning. I was impressed, and now Im trying to scheme up ways of seeing one of the shows. I dont know if the MSG date would work for us, cause thats the week Im moving up to NY. Perhaps one of the Jersey dates would be good.

Also, my new icon. Made by the most wonderous dapatty

Can you believe it? My parents were awarded permanent custody of Sarah last week, so now I have a 15 month old baby sister. I still think my mom is in a bit of shock that she has another child to raise, but the sacrifice is worth it, knowing that she will never be back in foster care or in a home where she is not taken care of properly.

In other news...
Spring Break is next week. Wooooo!!! Dave, Anthony, and I are going to New Mexico to visit Dave's mom. It's gonna be awesome. I also get to spend a night in Chicago with one of my favorite friends/surrogate mothers, which should be awesome. However, as soon as I get home I have to really get my ass in gear cause there are tons of endofthesemester icky projects coming up. I'm sooooo over school, graduation just cant get here fast enough!!!!

Long Time No Update ...

I havent posted anything substantial in forever. Things have just been so busy, so I'll hit the highlights.

Went to NY this weeked for a quick whirlwind. Dave picked me up at LGA Saturday morning and we just went and hung out at his apartment and searched for Billy Joel tickets all afternoon. At about 3pm we saw a post on craigslist ... a pair in section 40 for face value. We were ALL over that. Turns out the guy is also a member of the Springsteen site we are members of so that was kinda neat, and we gave him some Bruce boots. He met us at the train station and then we headed into the city. Got into Penn Station around 7pm and went to Tracks for dinner and drinks. We each had one very strong margarita, so we were feeling good by the time we went into the concert.

Billy was amazing. We danced, sang, laughed, just enjoyed each other, which we dont usually get to do. Oh, and this hot chick flashed me on the escalator up to our section, which would have been the highlight of my evening if Billy hadn't played "We Didnt Start the Fire." LOL

Sunday we got to pick up Anthony at noon, and just hung out with him all day. The kid is outta control, so freaking smart. I cant believe how much he has grown and changed since I first met him. He was totally blowing my mind this weekend. Dave and I were spelling out words with his leap frog letters on the fridge, and the kid was reading them!!! Cat, dog, hunny (Pooh bear spelling lol), funny, Beth (I think). He has probably just memorized them, but we were still shocked when he said the words!! It was so sad leaving him and Dave last night.

Today is back to school. Got up at 7 to do homework, then when I went to my 9oclock it was cancelled. Oh well, I went to McDs for biscuits and gravy.

In other news, I have to go to the custody evaluator on 3/20 to talk about Dave's whole custody evaluation. Im nervous, but also excited, because I really think that our relationship is going to be a positive asset for him in the evaluation. Anyway, all my NY area buddies ... Ill be there from 3/18 to 3/21 if any of you are free to hang out. Dave will probably be working at least one of those nights and I'll be lonely, so call me.

That's about it.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's Day has traditionally been one of my favorite days, mostly cause Im a sucker for mushy cards and shiny jewelry. I bought Dave a Berea College hoodie, which he wore on the plane home this morning. I was going to get a BC t-shirt for his kiddo, but given the situation, I figure I'll buy him something like that later when he would actually be able to wear it. I got a beautiful diamond heart necklace, which I am scared is going to get ripped off my neck. Im not used to having nice jewelry!! lol

In other news, today I was pretty much told that I am not welcome at an event that many of my good friends will be attending. Although I was not certain that I could attend in the first place, it still kinda hurts to be told in no uncertain terms that it would be better if we didnt come. And quite frankly, it makes me a little angry and even more disconnected than I was in the first place.

Sigh.

Im so over school this week. Im going to burn my copy of the freaking Iliad. The only redeeming quality of that course is that Dr. Carlevale is freaking gorgeous, but he kinda scares me. HEL is hard, Chaucer is even harder. I'm a terrible swimmer, but I did learn to back float today, surprisingly enough. 19th c. texts is just kinda dumb and pointless, but the prof is a Bruce fan, so that's something.

I need to start a countdown to something. Eighteen days or so til Billy Joel (hopefully anyway). That's something. Six weeks or so til spring break ... which is going to be awesome. Definitely Albuquerque, with maybe a side trip to Vegas. Dave and I are both going to desperately need a get away by that point.

I am so thirsty today. Think it has something to do with all the pool water I sucked into my lungs this morning?

fifteen more minutes of work this week. i have made it through the first full week of my last semester of college. unreal, isnt it? with each day that passes, i get more and more confused about what i want to do with myself after graduation. every time someone hears that i am graduating in may, they bark at me, "what are you gonna do?" if i have to hear that question one more time, i am gonna scream.

so it is supposed to snow tonight. i was supposed to go home tonight, take my cousins that go to eku home to see their mom, but i just really dont feel like going home and then getting trapped and not being able to hang out at my house with dave. i dont really want to go home, its just that ever since sarah has been living with my parents, i feel compelled to go there on the weekends to try and give my mom a break, since my dad and brother dont really help her out at all. plus sarah is just the coolest baby ive ever met and i like hanging out with her...

all you berea people be sure and check out the various exhibits around campus from the utah short term trip. there's the main one in the library, and then smaller ones on the first floor of draper and the tech building.

got a little care package in the mail from dave today ... cookies, fudge, magazines, coffee stuff, pictures, a hoodie ... it was nice. it will be even nicer if he f'en plane isnt delayed out of laguardia.

10 minutes of work left. ugh.
